This almost po boy was definitely exactly that. It was missing the tasty cabbage bed to lay the shrimps on! But even without the cabbage, the po boy sandwich came out excellent!
What You Need
1 lb of shrimp peeled, cleaned and de veined
a few pats of butter or about 2 tablespoons
1 teaspoon olive oil
3 cloves fresh garlic, crushed
tarter sauce
sriracha
hoagie rolls
For the sauce, I simply mixed together tarter sauce and some sriracha. It tasted alright, the relish in the tarter and the spice/garlic taste in the sriracha was different. Keep cooled until ready to serve.
To cook the shrimp add butter and olive oil to your pan. Allow the butter to get bubbly before adding the shrimp, this means that you can cook the shrimp on high heat and they will cook within a few minutes.Crush garlic cloves and mix into the shrimp once cooked thoroughly. Make sure the shrimp are pink all the way through. Toast your hoagie roll a bit, spread some tarter/sriracha sauce and added the shrimp on top! Simple and easy shrimp sandwich!
