You Will Need:
NY strip steak
2-4 Russet potatoes
Cheddar
1 Small Onion
2 cloves fresh garlic
Butter
Salt
Pepper
Start by cleaning your potatoes, stabbing holes with a large serving fork, and bake for 40 minutes + another 35 minutes.
While they are baking, make your insides! Cube some cheddar cheese, and saute your diced onions until they are a light brown color.Once the timer goes off, remove potatoes from the oven and slice in half. Scoop out the insides with an ice cream scooper and place in a large bowl.
Mix the onion, cheddar, crushed garlic and potato together and season with salt and pepper. Re scoop the insides back into the potato shells, as even as you can get the scoops and distribution and bake for another 15 minutes with foil underneath or on top.
Start the steaks! Turn the grill to as hot as it will get, cook the steaks on high direct heat for about 15 minutes or less for a rare steak; this equals about the time the potatoes are re-baking.
