This is made off of the Basic Biscuit recipe post.
I guess you could say this is like the Red Lobster style biscuit, but I do NOT use bisquick!
What you Need:
2 1/4 Cups Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon + 1 Tablespoon Sugar
1 Teaspoon Salt
6 Tablespoons Butter
3/4 Cup Buttermilk
For the extra kick of cheddar and garlic
1 Teaspoon garlic powder
~1/2 Cup shredded cheddar--I'm sorry, I didn't measure I just got so excited and just started shredding it into the bowl
1 teaspoon melted butter --For brushing on the biscuits
Makes about 15 Palm Sized biscuits
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Mix everything in a large bowl.
Once the mixture is thoroughly mixed, remove from the bowl and knead the dough.
The dough will be very stiff and a little hard to work with at first, but you'll get it! With the cheddar added the dough came out a lot more moist than usual this time around.
Once the dough is kneaded and mixed enough, form palm sized small biscuits, there should be enough for 15. Depending on how big or small you want the biscuits.
Butter or grease how you want the cookie sheet.
Place on a cookie baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minuets. 15 minuets, remove, brush on butter, back in the oven and time for another 4 minuets.
Remove from the oven, eat and enjoy!!
I used a little too much butter on the pan, but that's ok since it's biscuit making!
Baking in the oven, still a few minuets left
Fresh out of the oven without butter on top, this is where you add the butter, and then throw them back in for another 4 minuets.
Bottom of my bite taken out of biscuit mmm baked buttery goodness
